A fire-breathing dragon for your Transformer bag

The Transformer bag pattern dragon design panel brings fantasy, steampunk style, and even fire to your crossbody bag. Materials I used

For the dragon lid, I worked with two types of vegetable-tanned leather. For the base, I used uncovered vegetable-tanned leather 1.6–1.8 mm thick and dyed it with leather dye. For the dragon figure, I used vegetable-tanned leather with a pre-applied finish to achieve more contrast.

To complete this design, I needed:

• Rivets – 40+ pcs

• Chicago screws – 10 pcs

• 9 pcs with a stem height of 4–5 mm (0.16–0.20 in.)

• 1 pc with a stem height of 8 mm (0.31 in.)

• Steampunk decorative details (clock wheels, gears) with a diameter of 2–3 cm (0.79–1.18 in.)

• Double-sided tape

And if you want your dragon to light up, you will also need a USB LED garland and a power bank for the glowing effect.

Size of the finished flap

This dragon panel is designed for the Transformer bag base model with these dimensions:

• Height – 22 cm (8.66 in.)

• Width – 20 cm (7.87 in.)

• Depth – 5.5 cm (2.16 in.)

It also works for other crossbody bags of similar size if you want to adapt it to your own project.
