Leather Truck Desk Organizer Pattern

This Leather Truck Desk Organizer Pattern combines the functionality of a Truck Organizer Pattern with the appearance of a vintage truck. Unlike a traditional Leather Catchall Tray Pattern or Leather Valet Tray Pattern, this design uses four separate storage compartments built directly into the truck body. The collection also includes a Logging Truck Organizer Pattern inspired by the famous logging truck scene that many people still remember from Final Destination 2.

The project started as a simple vintage truck organizer, but eventually evolved into a larger and more detailed version with additional storage compartments and a removable magnetic logging load. Both versions are included in the pattern files.

The four compartments provide dedicated storage for everyday items that usually end up scattered across a desk or workbench. Keys, watches, earphones, USB drives, memory cards, small tools, cables, and other accessories can be stored separately and remain easy to access.

Materials and Hardware

Vegetable-tanned leather: 1.4–1.6 mm (3.5–4 oz) for the main body.

Leather for wheels: 2 mm (5–6 oz) or thicker.

M4 stainless steel threaded rods — 2 pcs, 100 mm (3.94 in).

M4 brass acorn cap nuts — 4 pcs.

Neodymium disc magnets — 15 mm (0.59 in) diameter — 4 pcs.

The logging truck version requires 4 additional magnets of this size.

Neodymium disc magnets — 12 mm (0.47 in) diameter — 4 pcs.

Knob screw rivets — 2 pcs.

Rivets — 12+ pcs.

Wooden ruler — 170 × 25 mm (6.69 × 0.98 in), up to 3 mm (0.12 in) thick.

This project contains a larger number of parts, multiple compartments, magnets, hardware installation, and more assembly steps than my simpler patterns. The logging truck version adds additional construction details and assembly work compared to the standard truck organizer.
