This leather pattern dog keychain is a special design for me. It was the first dog-shaped keychain I ever made, and my beloved dog Aiko was my inspiration. I wanted to create something small, charming, and full of personality, just like her.

The finished keychain measures 7 cm (2.76 in.) by 6 cm (2.36 in.) – small enough to be lightweight and easy to carry, yet detailed enough to showcase your craftsmanship. You can use it as a bag pendant, a keyring, or a thoughtful handmade gift for a dog lover. And because it’s compact, you can make it from leather scraps, making it an eco-friendly project too.

Materials You’ll Need

This charming dog is made from 1.4–1.6 mm (3.5–4 oz) Crazy Horse leather. You can also use vegetable-tanned or chrome-tanned leather.
You will also need:

• Key ring or small carabiner

• Filling (synthetic padding or holofiber)
