Let’s sew a leather bag with a cute dog face — Aiko! Step-by-step tutorial for leathercrafters.

Add a playful touch to your bag collection with our Dog-Themed Interchangeable Lid Design, specifically crafted for our base leather bag model (sold separately). This design allows you to refresh and personalize your base bag, eliminating the need for an entirely new bag.

To make this bag, you will need approximately 0.55 m² (851 in²) of leather.
I used medium firmness vegetable-tanned leather, 1.2–1.6 mm (3-4 oz.)
Rivets – 7 pcs
Chicago screws – 2 pcs
Steel D-Rings 2.5 cm (1 in.) – 3 pcs
Snap hooks 2.5 cm (1 in.) – 3 pcs
#5 zipper ≈ 50 cm (20 in.) – 1 pc
#4 jeans zippers, 18 cm (7.1 in.) – 2 pcs
Bag strap webbing 120 cm+ (47.2 in.+) – 1 pc
Metal rings Ø10 mm (0.39 in.) – 2 pcs
Strap slider – 1 pc (size depends on strap width)
Strap loop – 1 pc (size depends on strap width)

A separate file includes dimensions for strap slider and strap loop for the most popular strap widths: 30 mm (1.18 in.), 35 mm (1.38 in.), 38 mm (1.5 in.), 40 mm (1.57 in.), and 50 mm (2 in.).
The template covers the space of 1 A4-sized sheets of paper.
